Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dogs

I thought I loved our hounds... and then I owned a Catahoula !! Didn't take us long at all to decide our kennel would be home to these fantastic all around working dogs. Our catahoulas are used on hog, coon, and cattle in addition to being excellent home protection. We have been extremely blessed with an outstanding start up pair of dogs and without a doubt they are my heart dogs !!!

Snick is simply... a INCREDIBLE dog. He gives 120% every single time he's asked to do anything, and excels at everything. Snick has been used in the woods on hog, with the hounds on coon, in the competition hog bay pen, in the field on cattle, as a show dog, as a wounded game tracking dog, and is also trained for personal protection. He is forever by my side, a loyal and devoted companion in addtion to being a top notch competitor. We're beyond blessed to have him and are extremely grateful to his breeders Craig & Caryle Reid (Cross Check Catahoulas) and Tori Earls (J Cross Catahoulas) for the opportunity to own such a fantastic dog.

Snick is currenlty a UKC Tree Champion, Coursing Aptitude, Nosework Pre Trial Pass, United Rally Obedience Level 1, United Weight Pull Champion, and Grand Show Champion in addition to being an NKC Field Champion and Bench Show Champion and achieving his UKC SPOT (Socialized Pet Obedience Test), AKC CGCA (Canine Good Citizen Advanced), CAL 1 (Certifcato Di Attitudine Al Lavoro Level 1; person protection test) and is a certified Service Dog (SD). He is mere points away from his NALC Triple Champion title, is pointed in B Baying & Treeing & Obedience, and has been awarded MULTIPLE Hi Point Dog of Trial Awards and finished the 2017 season ranked NALC Top Ten for Treeing, B Bay, and Obedience, and winning the National Hi Point Bay Dog of the Year buckle. He is also a multiple time Pro Division Open Bay Pen money winner.

Freya is our keeper puppy from the UWP GRCH NALC Td-Ch NKC TRCH FCH CH Cross Check's Warrior River Havoc x UWP CA RATI UNJ CH NKC FCH WCH CH Warrior River Talon breeding. Freya is one of the most naturally talented and driven young dogs I have ever owned. She was baptized by fire at nine months old in the field and held her ground like a seasoned dog. At just over a year old she is already a cornerstone of our working pack and thrives on pressure. She bays hogs and cattle with all the style of her grandsire Snick, has uncanny stock sense from her sire Havoc, and the blazing track speed and athleticism of her dam Talon. We are EXTREMELY pleased with Freya and will continue to push her in all venues

Freya is currently a NKC Bench Show Champion, UKC Show Champion with her United Junior Jumper dock jumping title and also holds a Canine Good Citizenship and NADD Dock Junior jumping title. She will be campaigned in additional UKC dog sports, NKC field trials, and the open bay pen in 2020.

Khaleesi is our keeper female from the long awaited TRCH URO1 UWP CH NALC CombCh Cross Check's Warrior River Rimfire x URO1 UWP GRCH INT CH Warrior River's Gap Creek Piper breeding. And WOW did this litter deliever !!! By six months old Khaleesi was already treeing coons and baying hogs in addition to accumulating conformation placements at her first NALC show. We are soooo proud of this bred by baby !!

Khaleesi was selectively shown throughout the 2015 season. With her gritty working style and head full of sense we look for her to be a major part of our pack for many years to come. She is currently an NKC Tree Champion, Field Champion, Water Champion, Grand Bench Show Champion, a UKC Grand Show Champion, has a UKC Coursing Aptitude title, and a United Weight Puller title. She is also an ICKC Best Jr In Show winner, 2015 UKC Gateway Nationals Best of Breed winner, 2015 & 2018 LCLD Club Specialty Show winner, Multiple time  UKC Best In Show winner, Multiple time UKC Reserve Best In Show winner, multiple time NALC Best Female In Show winner, 2015 NKC World Show Champion, and was awarded an FSS Best in Open Show, spring 2018, the first Catahoula to win this placement.

Talon whelped her first litter Dec 2019, sired by Havoc. This has been an outstanding litter of puppies, 6/9 CH titled or pointed by one year of age and all working stock.

UNJ CA UWP RATI CH NKC CH FCH WCH Warrior River Talon

Talon is a littermate sister to Khaleesi and we are thrilled to have her back in our kennel. She has settled right into our home and pack and is now started on coon, hog, cow, and bloodtracking. Talon has a nice, steady working style once she gets cranking along with one of the more willing to please attitudes of any dog I've owned. She truly wants to work, wants to pleae her people, and has a TON of natual ability.

Talon breezed her way to multiple UKC titles in just two years of select competition, along with being pointed in NKC and NALC. She is one fine, handy woods dog on hog and blood tracking and finding her style on cattle as well. She is currently a UKC Show Champion with 3 wins towards Grand Champion, a United Novice Jumper, Coursing Ability, United Weight Puller, and has her Instinct level pass with the Barn Hunt Association. She is pointed in Treeing with NALC, has won two dog money in the open bay pen, and has bench show, water race, field trial, and treeing points won in NKC. Talon was the Overall Field Trial Winner at 2017 UKC Big Game Nationals Open Division Field Trial.

CH Warrior River Maleficent

Mae returned to our kennel fall 2017 and we are THRILLED to have her back ! This sassy blue leopard female is from our 2015 breeding of PTN TRCH CA URO1 UWPCH RBIS GRCH NALC Db-Ch Cross Check's Warrior River Rimfire x CH Warrior River J Cross Zip. She is line bred on our favorite bloodline, J Cross. And pulls both sides of the J Cross family together into one neat, bay the hair off anything package. Mae is a little nervy due to her past, but we are working and training her through that.

Mae currently has her UKC Show Champion title and will be expanding into events this upcoming year. She has been started on hogs & cattle, and will also be moved to blood trailing. We look for her to be as steady, handy, and gritty as her two half sisters in no time.... it runs in the family.

UWPCH AP VPN GRCH NALC Td - Ch NKC TRCH FCH CH Cross Check's Warrior River Havoc

We are so very excited to have Havoc come  south and try his feet in the Alabama soil with our pack of dogs. Thank you to our good friends Craig and Carlye Reid at Cross Check Catahoulas for the opportunity to own another Cross Check dog.

Havoc is sired by GRCH NALC GRCH of CHs Cross Check's Smith & Wesson, a littermate brother to Snick. We absolutely love this bloodline !!! Havoc is our turn to livestock dog, used for cattle and goats. He is making a very fair bay dog on hog and is a running catch dog when needed. He is a UKC Grand Show Champion with multiple Group placements and was ranked UKC Top Ten in 2018 & 2019. He is also a NALC Tree Dog Champion, with multiple Hi Point awards and finished the 2017 ranked #2 in standing, with a solid second place finish at Nationals.

JC

JC is a very special puppy who came to us in need of help. Her dam stepped  on her at two weeks of age and forced the bones in her elbow out of place, resulting in a front leg deformity. Despite her injury, JC remained a spitfire with all the grit and drive that genetics gave her. We decided to give her a chance and she underwent surgery at 3 wks old to fix her leg. The ensuing weeks of rehabilitation were extremely trying but JC defied the odds and not only can she walk and run but this little dog can BAY... everything ! She is truly a miracle puppy.

JC begins her Open Bay pen career with a first place win in the Puppy Bay at Hickory Crossing, July 2018 and follows it with multiple $ winning runs in 2019 at Pistol Creek & Double B bay pens.
